Wind Storm 2011

Thursday the Bountiful, Centerville and Farmington area had a really bad wind storm.  With winds up to 100 mph, the power was out from 7:00am Thursday morning and didn't come back on until 3:00 am the next morning.  And for some, it didn't come on until later.

There were many houses damaged.  Lots of people lost shingles off their roofs, trees damaging homes, yards, and telephone wires/poles. 

I had to work all day Thursday, it took me 10 minutes to get from my house onto the freeway. (usually it takes 2 minutes) For some reason peeps are stupid drivers when the power is out. . . . .? When I got off at 2 and was back in Btown, it had looked like a tornado hit without the tornado.

We started gearing up for a night without power... They had said on the news that they were expecting the power to be out for at least 48 hours. Wendy's was the ONLY place with power and EVERYBODY had the same idea.  I waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes.  The whole fam plus jaimers and tay tay sat in our living room around a lattern eating our dinner.  As the night went on, the house kept getting colder and colder and more clothing and blankets were being put on.  I never realized how entertaining having power is. . . . we were all soo bored sitting in the dark.

I was amazed at all the damage that was done. . . . HUGE pine trees were completely ripped from the ground, people lost garbage cans, trampolines, and many other things. 

We are expecting another storm just as bad tonight except with snow... church was even cancelled today so that we could clean up all the debris from the storm before.  We're getting ready for it to hit.
